Shadow of the tomb rider

by Nexx

Shadow of the tomb rider, this is the final chapter in the origin trilogy for this rebooted Lara Croft. The game has a satisfying entry with some trapping and some falling.

If you are fan of tomb rider then you really should appreciate the solid and real fun entry plain and simple.

It drops you in few months after the events of the tomb rider and Lara and Jonah are hot on the heel of trinity and they are tracking him down and trying to cut him off and disrupt their operation. It’s pretty much every turn at this point that Laura is finally really a bit more badass she’s kind of jacked at killing than ever.

The game finally acknowledged it a bit which is refreshing and interesting side note I really enjoy the new main costume design the dark blue sleeve upper shirt feels ever so slightly evocative of the original classic tomb raider designs and I’m into that.

But, what you get here is a slightly more lethal Lara combat and stealth is a bit more free from now with being able to like run and hide after being spotted becoming more of an easy things environment have a bit more ways to play around with enemies thanks to this slight.

The system allows you to cover yourself in mud and blend in and creeps through Vinson and ivy and walls and from there it just goes full predator where you can stalk and murder dudes with a really big combat knife that she literally just places into dudes skull. It’s not like a complete game changer but it carries a theme through a game that just feels nastier from the brutal stabbing to ancient cult executions.

Just a apocalyptic plot these games have gotten gory and scary before but shadows feels a cut above. I think it’s because of opening, it’s just the opening few hours or so is so freaking awesome it takes you a couple of places and doesn’t they fun things with moments that I can’t wait to watch again.

The scheme also seems to have wanted to say or do something a bit larger with Lara’s character it does ask a few questions and shows a few fun sides of Lara’s character that I think old school tomb rider fans might actually appreciate. But as the ball gets rolling it’s doesn’t really address some of it as much again except for like a few spots evens if it doesn’t break too much ground where it does do well relationship between Jonah and Lara.

I think the voice acting of the NPCs in the game isn’t too hot at all but Jonah and Lara kill it particularly and few good drawn out dramatic scenes.

Overall the game is really awesome to play and has satisfied old school and some new joined Tom rider gamers in their separate stances.
